Overview

Most usability problems are visible before a line of code is written, in the flow rather than the visuals. We test them there, where changes are cheap.

Deliverables are a design system rather than a set of screens: tokens, components and states that your engineers can build against and extend, with accessibility requirements defined as part of each component.

    Interviews, task analysis and review of existing support data to establish what users are actually trying to do.

  • Interaction and interface design

    Flows, wireframes and high-fidelity screens covering the empty, loading, error and success states — not only the ideal path.

  • Design systems

    Tokens, components and usage rules documented so the product stays coherent as different people extend it.

  • Accessibility by design

    Contrast, focus order, keyboard operation and screen-reader semantics specified per component, targeting WCAG 2.1 AA.

Process

How we deliver it

The four stages ui/ux design moves through, and what you have at the end of each.

  1. Understand

    Research the users and constraints, and agree what the design has to achieve in measurable terms.

  2. Structure

    Information architecture and flows tested as low-fidelity artefacts, before visual design is committed.

  3. Design the system

    Tokens and components first, pages assembled from them, so the result is buildable and consistent.

  4. Validate and hand off

    Usability testing on the critical paths, then documented specifications and an engineering walkthrough.
