Service

Software Development

Custom platforms and internal systems built to a specification you own, with security designed in from the first commit.

Overview

Most custom software fails for reasons that have nothing to do with code. The requirements were never pinned down, the security model was added at the end, or nobody could maintain it once the original team moved on. We build to avoid all three.

Engagements start with a written specification you sign off before development begins, proceed in short reviewable increments, and end with you holding the repository, the deployment pipeline and the documentation. Security review is part of each increment rather than a gate at the end.

Code review and static analysis run on every change

Capabilities

What software development covers

  • Backend and API development

Services, integrations and data models designed around your domain, with authentication, authorisation and audit logging treated as first-class requirements.

  • Internal tools and dashboards

Operational interfaces for the people who run the business day to day — built for the actual workflow rather than a generic admin template.

  • Systems integration

Connecting the tools you already pay for so data stops being re-entered by hand, with clear failure handling when a third party is unavailable.

  • Legacy modernisation

Incremental replacement of systems that still work but can no longer be safely changed, sequenced so the business keeps running throughout.

Process

How we deliver it

The four stages software development moves through, and what you have at the end of each.

  1. Discovery and specification

We map the current process, agree the scope in writing, and identify the security and compliance constraints before any code is written.

  2. Architecture and threat modelling

The technical design and its threat model are produced together, so trust boundaries and data handling are decided deliberately.

  3. Incremental delivery

Short cycles with working software you can review, automated tests, and dependency and code scanning in the pipeline from day one.

  4. Handover and support

Documentation, runbooks and a walkthrough with your team. You own the code and the infrastructure accounts.

PRD §8 requires the exact scope of each service to be confirmed before final copy. Outstanding for this one:

  • Preferred language and framework defaults for new client builds
  • Standard support and maintenance terms offered after handover

Include the country code.

Optional, but it helps us propose something realistic. Any currency, and a range is fine.

What needs to exist, what problem it solves, and any constraints we should know about — compliance, deadlines, systems it has to work with.

Commercially sensitive details are best left out of a web form — tell us enough to scope it and we'll take the rest over a call.
